MERA DESH Sewa Puruskar

Mera Desh Foundation proposes to institute ten annual awards called the “Mera Desh Sewa Puruskar”. The medal would be awarded to people who have extraordinarily served the society in any manner or field.

The emotion behind constituting this medal is to make people aware of the contribution of the medal recipients, apart from that the global citizen should also be made aware and encouraged of the fact that they could also serve the society, if they just decide to take a little time out of their busy schedules, and serve the society in any possible manner, the way the medal recipients have done.

The nomination for the awards shall be done by a group of eminent personalities, who themselves have served the society in their own right.

Sewa is the key word, as it not only reflects the attitude of the person but also highlights the fact that the nominee had an option of leading a monotonous life but chose to do acts that would benefit the society at large. Sewa is not a term but a frame of mind, Sewa is not necessarily to attract attention but to do a thing or act with conviction.

The “Mera Desh Sewa Puruskar” may consist of awards in cash or in kind.

We appeal to individuals, associations and corporate entities to support by donating generously to this medal. This would be a great yeoman service to the deserving recipients and would convey a great social message of encouragement and respect.
